Demolition & Debris Removal in Waco, TX

Interior demo torn out, loaded and hauled.

Interior and selective demolition for Waco remodels, plus the debris haul that follows. Tell us what has to come out — cabinets, drywall, flooring, fixtures, a detached shed or garage — and we match the job to an independent local provider who does the tear-out, loads it, and hauls it away.

Scheduling note: Demolition debris is usually schedule-driven — the next trade cannot start until the site is clear. Say when your install or inspection is booked and we route the job to a provider who can hit that window.

What is interior demolition?

Interior demolition — often called selective demolition — is the removal of a building's finishes and non-structural elements while the building itself stays standing. Cabinets, countertops, drywall and plaster, flooring, interior doors and trim, bathroom fixtures and partition walls all come out; the frame, the roof and anything load-bearing stay exactly where they are.

It is the step between deciding to remodel and being able to start. On most Waco jobs the tear-out and the debris haul are the same visit: the provider strips the room, carries the material out, loads it and takes it away, leaving a space the next trade can work in.

Demolition and debris jobs we take on

Residential and commercial, tear-out or haul-only. If you are not sure which of these your job is, describe it and we will place it.

Remodel and renovation debris

Kitchen and bath tear-outs, flooring pulls, whole-room refreshes. Either the provider strips the finishes, or clears what your contractor already piled in the driveway between phases.

Commercial tenant build-outs

Partition walls, dropped ceilings, shop fittings, old counters and fixtures pulled from suites along the I-35 corridor and around downtown Waco so the space hands over as a clean shell.

Garage, shed and carport teardown

Detached structures dismantled and the materials hauled off — wood frame, metal or plastic. Usually quoted flat-rate rather than by volume.

Storm-damaged structures

Central Texas storm season runs April through October. Outbuildings, fencing and carports past repair are taken down and cleared, and providers book up fast after a hail or wind event.

Insurance and licensing: The independent providers in this network carry their own liability insurance, and you are entitled to see a certificate before work starts — ask, and we will get it to you. Nobody in this network performs asbestos or lead abatement, structural engineering, or utility disconnection; those are separately licensed trades and have to be booked directly.

What are the three types of demolition?

Demolition is usually split into three categories. Two of them describe most Waco remodel work; the third is a different trade, and it is worth knowing which one your job actually is before you start calling around.

01

Interior / selective demolition

Finishes and non-structural elements come out while the building stays up — cabinets, countertops, drywall, flooring, trim, fixtures and partition walls. This is the bulk of Waco remodel work and the core of this service.

✓ Handled by this network

02

Deconstruction / salvage

A slower, hand-worked teardown that keeps materials intact so cabinets, fixtures, doors and clean lumber can be reused or donated instead of landfilled. Worth it when the finishes still have life in them.

✓ Handled by this network

03

Structural / mechanical demolition

Load-bearing elements, whole buildings and foundations taken down with heavy equipment. That is a separate licensed trade with its own permits and engineering, and it is not part of this service — though the debris haul afterwards can be.

✕ Not handled — separate trade

How much does construction debris removal cost?

Demolition debris is priced by the truck space the load fills, and the provider handling your job sets the number before anything comes out. Heavy material like concrete and brick is assessed on weight and quoted separately.

Price ranges by load size

Minimum Load
$150
Quarter Truck
$249–$349
Half Truck Typical kitchen tear-out
$399–$529
Three-Quarter Truck
$579–$729
Full Truck
$749–$949

How much to demo inside a house?

Interior demolition in the Waco market is normally quoted per job rather than per hour, and the number tracks how much material comes out. A single bathroom strip-out is usually a minimum-to-quarter-truck job, a full kitchen tear-out commonly lands around a half to three-quarter truck, and a multi-room gut runs to one or more full loads. Removing the finishes as well as hauling them costs more than hauling debris a contractor has already piled up, so say which you need. The provider confirms the price on site before anything is touched.

What moves the price

  • How much comes out

Debris is priced by the truck space the load fills, so a single-bath strip-out and a full kitchen are different jobs.

  • Material weight

Concrete, brick, tile and masonry hit truck weight limits long before they fill the space, so heavy loads are quoted separately from standard volume pricing.

  • Demo labour versus haul only

Clearing debris a contractor already piled up costs less than removing the finishes first. Say which you need when you ask for the quote.

  • Access to the work area

Second-floor bathrooms, tight stairwells and long carries take longer than a garage you can back a truck up to.

  • Schedule

Same-day and phase-gap slots depend on provider availability. Booking a day or two out is usually easier to place.

What happens to the debris after demolition?

A demolition load is rarely one material, so it rarely has one destination. It gets sorted before it gets dumped.

How donation and recycling work →

Recycled

Clean metal, appliances and fixtures, and untreated lumber where a local processor takes it. Concrete and brick can often go to aggregate recycling rather than the landfill.

Donated

Cabinets, doors, vanities, light fittings and hardware still in serviceable condition are offered to donation partners before anything else is decided.

Landfilled

Mixed drywall, carpet, laminate, damaged tile and anything contaminated goes to the appropriate McLennan County disposal facility, with the tipping fee built into the quoted price.

What is renovation debris?

Renovation debris is what a remodel leaves behind once the old finishes come out — drywall and plaster, cabinets and countertops, carpet, vinyl and tile flooring, trim and interior doors, bathroom fixtures, light fittings, and the lumber offcuts from any reframing. It is different from household junk because it is bulky, often sharp, and mixed, and different from heavy debris like concrete and brick, which is priced by weight instead of volume.

Typical Job: Kitchen Strip-Out Before Install Hillcrest, Waco
Situation:

A 1960s kitchen had to be back to bare studs and subfloor before the cabinet installer arrived at the end of the week. Cabinets, laminate countertops, backsplash tile, vinyl flooring and a section of non-structural partition all had to come out.

Outcome:

A kitchen of this size is usually a single visit for the provider — the finishes stripped, carried out and loaded, generally around one full truck load, with the room left swept and ready for the install crew.

Do providers do the demolition or just haul the debris?
Both, depending on what you need. Providers in the network handle interior and selective demolition — cabinets, drywall, flooring, fixtures and non-structural partitions — and they also take haul-only jobs where a contractor has already done the tear-out. Structural and load-bearing demolition is a different trade with its own licensing, and that is not part of this service.
Can concrete, brick and masonry rubble be hauled?
Yes, but it is quoted separately. A truck of concrete or brick reaches its weight limit long before it fills up, so heavy debris is priced on weight rather than the volume pricing used for a normal load. Tell us if your load is mostly masonry and we will route it to a provider set up to take it.
What about asbestos in an older Waco home?
Anything built before about 1980 can contain asbestos in floor tile, sheet flooring backing, popcorn ceilings, pipe wrap and some plaster. Providers do not test for it and do not perform abatement. Have a licensed asbestos inspector sample the material first; once it is confirmed clear, the demo and haul proceed normally. This protects you as much as the crew.
Can a shed or detached garage be taken down?
Yes. Detached structures like sheds, carports and single garages are taken apart and the materials hauled off, usually as a flat-rate job rather than standard volume pricing. Send the size and construction type and we will route it for a quote.
